  • E. O. Smith Celebrates a Milestone!

    In September, 1958 (back when school began after Labor Day), the towns of Ashford and Mansfield, along with the participation of the University of Connecticut, opened up the E. O. Smith High School. Students who had attended Windham High School now had their own regional school. The Mansfield state representative, Edwin O. Smith, brought together the stakeholders, to craft a school that would be an example of excellence, and would help to draw faculty to the university. The school opened with over 600 students. Today, Willington is also part of the region, and there are over 1100 students in grades 9-12.

  • Decision Expected on Athletic Field Project Shortly
    The Regional School District #19 Board of Education is considering a plan to renovate the outdoor athletic facilities at E.O. Smith High School.
  • E.O. Smith Athletic Facilities Renovation Project to be Discussed

    The design work for the E.O. Smith High School fields and track is well underway.  At last week’s Building Committee meeting, Architect, David Dickson, presented the committee with revised plans that included a number of design options for the district to consider.
